Update??

Okay so lately I haven’t been able to get on and I personally apologize for that! College is becoming a bit harder with the middle of the semester approaching and I’m growing more and more stretched by what’s all happening soooo here’s an update of what’s going on.. so this far O_O…

Okay! So… roommate arrangements. Prior existing and ongoing complications have caused me and my current roommate (who was having problems herself) to leave our old roommates behind and just room with each other AND ITS AWESOME 😀 Tori will be featured from now on so ;D its goooood

I’ll be trying to get on more often from this point on because I enjoy blogging :3

um… aside from all that….

I have blue hair?

Conquering the first week of college! (this one is kind of long!!)

So as I’ve mentioned in a previous post, I’ve recently packed up my things and shipped off to college in a town that I hardly knew existed. At first, I was completely racked with nerves on how I was to survive all by myself with no friends and no ability to do so. I hadn’t officially met my roommate/suitemates (we share a bathroom), I hadn’t made a single friend on campus, and I didn’t no what to expect from the notorious “college professors”.

Not long after moving in my things had I gotten to meet my very first friend on campus and definitely one that I will never forget: my roommate Lydia.

My first impression of Lydia was that she was going to be a girl that I would have to tolerate due to some differences in how our parents had raised us. Boy was I wrong! Lydia quickly became someone that I considered to be one of the people I trusted most- I LIVED with her after all! I came to find that her and I had a lot in common; from how we viewed people and the world to our opinions on the controversial matters in today’s society- I had easily made a best friend.

Soon after classes started up, I ran into a woman named Keely that I had met at orientation and who I immediately clicked. We had only talked a little but I was in no position to deny a friendship with one of the few familiar faces I had seen. Keely is two years older that I and has far more experience with life than I have in my left pinky. After only one week and a LOT of talking, Keely became my first official not-roommate best friend.

Looking back, I wish high school had told the truth about college; it’s hard but not impossible and it’s actually a whole lot of fun. My classes are ones that I actually enjoy doing and have found easy to manage (for the time being). High school tells you that college is something to almost fear, to constantly keep track of in order to succeed. I have found this to be untrue in the fact that college really is what you make it…

Now that I’m breaching the end of my third week here, I feel more confident in my abilities as a college student and in making friends. I understand that I don’t have to rush school or making friends/lovers; there’s a time when everything will just fall into place. C:

The Society of People Who Wear Band-Aids on Their Foreheads

After an eventful (and kinda scary) night, Lydia, Kenny (Ken-ward) and I have created the Society of People Who Wear Band-Aids on Their Foreheads (SPWWBTF).
After finally getting situated, Kenny decided to put in his awkward face.
I love my friends ❤

Rules that college and life should’ve prepared you for (updates frequently)

As soon as I got to college I was so excited for what was to come and prepared myself for what I thought would be the things that were important (i.e. supplies, clothing etc.). However, after only a week, I realized that I was completely unprepared to handle life on my own (and life with a roommate), so together, Tori and I have made a list of rules that colleges don’t tell you about that could make your experience one with many laughs, awkward silences and late night Supernatural marathons.

  1. It’s not what you know, it’s who you know.
  2. There is no such thing as a “hot shower”. There is scalding, luke-warm, and freezing. Choose wisely.
  3. Buy books online to avoid going broke.
  4. Always be prepared for the unexpected. This includes “unexpected” fire drills at 1:30 am.
  5. Self-transportation is the ONLY transportation. Open parking spots do not exist.
  6. There’s what you want to do and what you have to do. Make the hard decision.
  7. Sometimes the big challenges are the most gratifying but it’s the little ones that are the most rewarding.
  8. Rather than sit alone while dinning, sit with a stranger. The experience is more enjoyable and it’s an easy way to make a friend.
  9. Find a form of studying that works for you… Otherwise you’re reading 54 pages from your history book due the next day.
  10. Take on each day with a overwhelming amount of self confidence. This leads to new friends, good days, and free t-shirts.
  11. Think smart buy smart. College will suck away all of your funds, spend what you’ve got wisely.
  12. Leave the house early for everything. If you’re not early, you’re late.
  13. Make your roommate your best friend. You’re going to be living with them for a while, make the most of it.
  14. Take time to smell the flowers, it just might be an adventure of its own.
  15. Pick your moments. Maybe all you need is some dinosaur chicken nuggets to make a night better.
  16. Sometimes you’ve just got to go for something. Not everything in the world is planned out, when life gives you lemons, make strawberry watermelon juice.
